New Parish Web site
The parish council has decided that they wanted a new web site. So the website has moved. I am not the web master of that new site, but I will remain here to manage this one. Actually, I moved as well, so I am not even in the parish any longer. I wish the new web site administrators well. I would also be available to help them on any technical issues, although they have very competent people working on their website. Pat, Phil, Irene, and Father Lodge, don't hesitate to give me a call or drop me an e-mail. And I am leaving this one up to act as a transistional link to their new site.
Here is the new link to the Transfiguration Parish Website.
Volunteers Needed
1st Way of Collingswood on Richey Avenue, is in
need of volunteers to work on Fridays from 10:00 A.M. to
12:00 P.M. They are a pro-lfe organization that offers
pregnant teens and women alternatives to
abortion. Please call Catherine Farrell at 547-5418 if interested.
If there are any young people in the parish from 4th grade up who are interested in becoming altar servers, please either contact Father Lodge after Mass, or Patty O'Brien at CCD, or call the rectory (call 854-0364).

Here are the Tsunami (Tidal Wave) help & recovery links:
Catholic Relief Services; and Catholic Relief Services;
Tsunami help Blog;
and Google Tsunami help links;
Government list of relief agencies. This is a excellent list.
C.C.D. teachers
If you have ever been interested in sharing your
faith and God's blessings to you with young people, and would be interested
in helping on Sunday mornings, please contact Father Lodge
at the Rectory 854-0364, or Pattie O'Brian at 854-6923. We are also in need of
individuals who might be willing to substitute occasionally when a teacher might
be unable to make a class.
We are also looking for high school students to give one hour of their time once a month as classroom aides. This is an interesting, fun and learning experience. Please call Ms. O'Brien at 854-6923 if interested.
Parishoners of Transfiguration Parish can send their children to the school at Saint John's Catholic Church school using Saint John's in-Parish rate. There is an agreement to use the Saint John's Regional School in Collingswood since Transfiguration Parish does not have an elementary school.
Saint John's is currently accepting registration for pre-K 3 and 4, and Kindergarden through 8th grade. Please call 856-858-1966.
Please remember the House Of Charity!
F.Y.I. Our AREA CODE has changed from (609), now please
use (856)!
ALL CCD CLASSES
Parents are asked to please NOT drive their cars by the back
doors of the school when picking up their children. It is becoming increasingly
more dangerous to the other children as all are being dismissed at the
same exit. PLEASE exit the parking lot on Magill Avenue.
If you are interested in learning more about the Saint John's Catholic School,
please come to the school office between 9:00AM and 2:00PM or call the office
at 856-858-1562. They would be happy to sit down with you, answer your questions,
give you a tour or give you an application. Transfiguration parish sends their children
to Saint John's elementary School and parishoners pay the in-parish rate by agreement
with the Bishop.
RCIA
In the Church today a structure lost for over a thousand years is re-emerging
--the catechumenate. It is re-emerging because the Church community today
wants to do something our ancestors did years ago; we want to give birth
to new members. We want new Christians to be born again in the faith and
life of a Spirit-filled community. Because this task is a new one for a
twentyfirst-Century Church, we have to look to the past, to another age when
Christian people realized that they were a community of faith and life.
Our model is the RCIA. The third to fifth centuries are our treasure ground.
To give birth to new members was fundamental to the Christian life
of apostolic times. As soon as these first Christians became living communities
their main work was to give birth to other communities. The Fathers of
the Church speak of early models of community life-sharing in several analogies.
